Ace Magician AD15 Mini PC Review – big power in a small package

Robert Collins

Mini PCs are gaining popularity with each passing year, and it’s no wonder why due to their space-saving form factors and generally pleasing aesthetics. Are mini PCs the wave of the future? Well, that question is still very much up for debate.

But if you’ve been thinking about jumping on the mini PC bandwagon, there’s never been a better time with companies like Denver, CO-based Ace Magician bringing more and more capable mini PCs to market.

Ace Magician specializes in mini PCs, and features a range of them in its store. The one featured here is the AD15, one of the company’s latest offerings. As you can see in the images, the AD15 is a compact mini-tower PC, and a suitably high-performance one at that, at least for everyday use purposes.

And it comes in an aesthetically pleasing (not to mention spatially economical) package that will compliment your workstation nicely. The AD15 is also VESA mount compatible. The unit comes packaged with a power brick/cable; user manual; HDMI cable and the mini PC.

The Verdict

The AD15 packs a pretty big punch beneath its compact exterior. Performance was consistently fast and smooth with multiple programs running. And this is really where the AD15 shines: as a reliably capable workhorse, and your daily office driver. Most everyday tasks like word processing, web browsing etc. are a breeze. It can even easily handle multitasking on three separate displays at once, and can output up to 4K resolution at 60FPS.

The AD15 isn’t a gaming PC per se, and thus it is not quite what hardcore PC gamers are looking for when they will only settle for the very best in a mini PC form factor (For that, they’ll want to check out offerings like Ace Magician’s own AMD Ryzen 7 mini gaming PC). It is, however, perfectly fine for casual gaming. More demanding tasks like video rendering/editing can also push the AD15 to its limit.

Cons:

  • NOT Ace Magician’s best offering for high-end gaming

Pros:

  • Snappy performance overall
  • Runs super-cool, yet super-quiet
  • Aesthetic addition to your workstation

Ad15 Mini Pc Edit

All in all, the Ace Magician AD15 can hardly be beat as an office machine or say, as a main home computer for students for studying and coursework. However if you’re serious about gaming, the company’s mini gaming PCs may be more up your alley. Otherwise, the AD15 is an easy recommendation.
