Hello, everyone, and welcome to OnPodcast: The OnMSFT.com Postcast. This is our podcast series featuring our contributing writers, Kareem Anderson and Arif Bacchus.

In this week’s episode, we have a jam-packed schedule. We recap the hardware news coming out of Microsoft’s Surface event, as well as look at some of the early Xbox Series X reviews. We also talk about Microsoft 365 going down, and some news surrounding the 64-bit app-emulation in Windows 10.

To end, we talk about the week ahead, which includes news we think will cover the October 2020 Update, Skype, and Microsoft Edge. We also tease our upcoming giveaway, as well!

Segment 1: Surface event recap (2:01-14:00)

In this first segment, Arif and Kareem recap the news coming out of Microsoft’s latest Surface event. They talk about the Surface Pro X refresh, as well as Surface Laptop Go and how it compares to a MacBook Air or Chromebook. Kareem will also discuss the latest Surface accessories, too.

Segment 2: Xbox X Series Early Reviews (14:00-20:46)

In this second segment, Arif and Kareem talk about the press’ early reviews of the Xbox X Series. They’ll get into the design, the controller, SSDs, performance, and a lot more. There’s talk about how it compares to PS5, too.

Segment 3: Microsoft 365 going down (20:46-23:16)

This third segment looks at what happened with Microsoft 365, and logins going down in the middle of last week. Arif and Kareem speculate on a cause and how quickly Microsoft fixed it.

Segment 4: 64-bit app emulation on Windows 10 on ARM (23:16-27:00)

This final segment is all dedicated to the Surface Pro X and Windows 10 on ARM. Arif talks about the improvements coming to Windows 10 on ARM, which includes 64-bit app emulation. Kareem speculates on what it could mean for the future of ARM-devices, especially with Apple’s own ARM-based Macbook coming up.

The Week Ahead (27:00-33:41)

As usual, to end the podcast Arif and Kareem talk about some topics they expect for the week ahead. They talk about the Windows 10 October 2020 Update, Skype, as well as Edge. There’s even talk about a gaming giveaway, too!
