Feed your gaming monster with Firefly Runner, Fort Boyard, and Crumble Zone for Windows 8.1

It’s a great time for gamers at the moment, but you don’t have to be an Xbox One owner to get your gaming fix. There are all manner of great titles available for Windows 8.1, and we thought we’d highlight three you might like to take a look at.

If you have a few dollars spare at the moment, here are three low-cost games you might want to consider splashing your cash on. Firefly Runner is a cheap but fun actioner in which you control Switch and guide him through Firefly Island to rescue his friends. There’s also a Windows Phone version available, so you can get your fix on the move.

15% of the revenue earned by Firefly app purchases are being donated to two UK based video games charities: GamesAid and SpecialEffect. Firefly Runner is a game primarily aimed at a young people, which is why it fits the chosen charities so well.

Maybe you’re more in the mood for something to stretch the brain a little. Look no further than Fort Boyard which ties in with the TV series of the same name. With 24 challenges lifted directly from the show, four difficultly levels, and all manner of unlockables, this is a game that will keep you coming back for more – not bad for less than $2.

Rounding off this trio of games is Crumble Zone. Despite the name, this has nothing to do with driving — it is in fact a space-based shooter. Help your little green alien to blast his way through asteroid fields to protect his planet as you pick up special weapons and aim for a high score.

Happy gaming!
