Zoom will soon be available on smart displays from Amazon, Google, and Facebook

Zoom today announced that its “Zoom for Home” line of products is coming to smart displays including Facebook portal, Google Nest Hub Max, and Amazon Echo Show. Zoom will arrive on Portal in select markets starting next month, with a Google Nest Hub Max and Amazon Echo Show to follow later this year.

The news comes after Zoom launched its new Zoom for Home category last month. The service includes a new series of hardware devices as well as a software interface targeted more towards business professionals. Zoom for Home has been designed to offer an out-of-the-box collaboration setup for phone calls and video meetings along with some hardware-based features such as whiteboarding, content sharing, and co-annotation. Now just a month after announcing the service, Zoom is bringing these capabilities to Google Nest, Amazon Echo, and Facebook Portal smart displays.

“We’re excited to bring Zoom to these popular devices,” said Oded Gal, chief product officer for Zoom. “It’s more apparent than ever that people are looking for easy-to-use displays for their video communications needs, both professionally and personally.”

With today’s announcement, the Microsoft Teams vs Zoom battle is heating up a bit more. Even though Zoom has recently announced its own displays, the company wants to expand its services to smart displays consumers are already buying. As for Microsoft Teams, it currently doesn’t have such integration, but the company announced a wide selection of devices for customers in July 2020.
