If you’re looking to purchase a cheap Surface tablet from Microsoft, then you may want to check the US Microsoft Store today. Just four months after the two-year-old Surface 3 was removed from the US Store, the company has once again started selling Certified Refurbished Surface 3 tablets, which are more affordable than ever (via Neowin)
Microsoft is offering just two models of the lower-cost Surface Pro 3, and the base model with only 2GB of RAM and 64GB of storage can be yours for just $299. If you want more RAM and storage, you can choose the $369 model with 4GB or RAM and 128GB of storage.
Both configurations come with a 10.8″ Full HD touchscreen display, a Quad-core Intel Atom x7-Z8700 processor, a full size USB 3.0 port and a Mini DisplayPort. The pricing also include a 1-year limited hardware warranty, though be aware that the Type Cover and Surface Pen are sold separately.
The Surface 3 was the last Surface tablet to ship with Windows 8.1, but both refurbished models come with Windows 10 Home. The Surface 3 was a pretty good tablet when it was released two years ago, but its lower-cost Atom processor and eMMC solid state storage could now be a concern for demanding users. If you want to purchase one, we definitely recommend you to go with the more expensive model with more RAM and storage.
