Yezz Billy 4.7 now available at Microsoft Store for 99

Not too long ago, the Microsoft Store started selling the budget-friendly Yezz Billy 4.7 announced back in September. Named after Microsoft’s founder Bill Gates, the handset offers a decent set of specifications which can handle most of the day-to-day tasks, and costs just $199 unlocked so you can use it on your preferred carrier.

As a quick recap, the handset features a 4.7-inch display boasting a resolution of 1280 by 720 pixels and Asahi Dragontrail Glass protection. The processing power comes from a quad-core 1.2GHz Snapdragon 200 SoC paired with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of expandable memory offering microSD card support of up to 128GB. It’s only 7.2 mm thin and runs Windows Phone 8.1 pre-installed out of the box.

If you ask me, the folks at Yezz priced it a little too high, as Windows Phone fans interested in an entry-level smartphone can grab other devices for less than $199. The handset offers a similar set of specifications as the Lumia 535, which offers a slightly bigger display, Lumia Denim firmware and is available at a lower price tag — $169.99 from Expansys in the US. Nonetheless, head over to the Microsoft Store to get more details about the handset, or if you’re thinking about purchasing it.
