Pokemon Go is everywhere. Since the game’s daily active users started skyrocketing, everyone has had the game on their minds. And many are reimagining other apps and games in augmented reality (AR) or within the Pokemon universe.
One of the cooler ones that we saw last week was a mixed reality capture with a HoloLens. Independent of Microsoft, the folks at CapitolaVR showed us what Pokemon Go would look like on the holographic headset computer.
Now, Microsoft is doing their own reimagining of Pokemon Go with Xbox games. The Xbox UK Twitter account tweeted that they have also caught Pokemon Go fever. And the tweet included renders of Microsoft phones playing Pokemon Go-esque versions of popular Xbox exclusive titles.

The renders include AR versions of Forza, Crackdown, and Halo. Currently, renders are as close as you are going to get to seeing Pokemon Go on Windows 10 Mobile phone. The popular game is only available on iOS and Android. But there is a petition to bring the game to Windows 10 Mobile, and Microsoft has stated they are looking into making the game available in the Windows Store. So there is hope yet.
Regardless, it is fun to think of rendering of popular Xbox titles as AR games. Forza Go might be more intuitive of a crossover. Given how competitive Pokemon Go can be, Halo Go might be a little much. But my question is where is Age of Empires Go? That seems like a no-brainer for AR compared to the other titles.
