Microsoft’s Xbox Series X and Series S consoles will have to wait a bit to get their first exclusive game. Indeed, The Medium, the upcoming psychological horror game developed by Bloober Team will now ship on January 28, 2021 instead of December 10. That’s not a long delay, and it may ultimately prevent the game from being overshadowed by the blockbuster game Cyberpunk 2077 which will now be released on December 10.

“It wasn’t an easy choice to make, but one made due to the COVID-19 situation in Poland, as well as the current schedule of other games on the market. Bloober Team remains committed to delivering our biggest, most ambitious, fear-inducing experience to date,” the Polish game studio said today.
Following the delay of Halo: Infinite to next year, The Medium will be the first Xbox Series X/S exclusive game to launch in January, and it’s a title that will leverage Microsot’s new Xbox Velocity Architecture in some unique ways. Marianne, the game’s heroine can seamlessly travel between the real world and the spirit realm, and players will need to frequently navigate between both worlds to solve puzzles and fight off hostile forces.
The Medium may not be a system-seller for Microsoft’s next-gen Xbox consoles, but it should be a very interesting exclusive for gamers who enjoy the psychological horror genre. It’s worth noting that it’s also being developed for Windows, and it will be available on Xbox Game Pass for Console and PC on launch day.
