News regarding the Xbox One continues to pour out this week as Microsoft’s Xbox team reveals more information about the future of the console at this year’s Gamescom conference. While most of the announcements coming out of Gamescom are about future updates, features, and game release dates, there are new games for the Xbox One that can be had as soon as next week.

Major Nelson (aka Larry Hyrb) and the Xbox team are announcing that Super Mega Baseball: Extra Innings is now available for digital pre-order on the Xbox One. The colorful and cartoonish arcade-style game is a light-hearted take on the sport of baseball. Super Mega Baseball, includes several multiplayer games modes of which local four play co-op, head to head, 2v1, 2v2 and co-op against a CPU opponent are options. The game also include a novel difficulty system titled “Ego” where fine-grained controls are issued on a per player basis in an attempt to level the playing for both cooperative play and competitive modes. For gamers looking for more realistic but intuitive forms of gameplay, Super Mega Baseball also includes a deep baseball simulation that pairs accurate baseball physics with comprehensive statistic tracking.

Casual gamers may also appreciate the speed and streamline interface that helps shorten lengthy nine inning games into quick 20 minutes pieces of gameplay. On top of fun and quick gameplay, SMB also delves into team management and player improvements. According to game developer MetalHead Software Inc:

“Leveling System: Players tally up Starpoints for hits, strikeouts and catches during each game and Level Up once they collect enough points. Players can hire staff to train and coach their squad, improving skill attributes such as Power and Speed. Use that jacked up team to win at higher difficulties (and post higher leaderboard scores than friends)! * Player Customization: Customize the look and names of a team’s players to create a ragtag crew of family and friends. Make as many aesthetic adjustments as you can imagine!”

For interested gamers, pre-order now and save 15% off. Super Mega Baseball: Extra Innings is expected to release August 14th, 2015, and while the game will not be playable until then, eager games can pre-load to game immediately after launch.
