The New Xbox One Experience is coming fast, with its November release date just around the corner. With this change coming, it only makes sense that the Windows 10 app for Xbox should be receiving some updates. In a recent blog post, Major Nelson shed a bit of light on what’s coming up for Xbox Preview members, and what updates are arriving for the Windows 10 Xbox app.
The new updates to the app focus on letting you interact with your Xbox friends more through the Windows 10 app, and the improvements are substantial. The new update adds party text chat, letting you talk with party members through messages, not requiring voice. It also adds new functionality to notifications, allowing you to reply to messages directly through notifications, and letting you share notable things on your activity feed directly through the notification menu. This includes sharing achievements, video clips, and screenshots – it does a lot to make the new Xbox experience better for people who like to create content.
