Microsoft’s Xbox 360 entertainment console remains the top-selling gaming console in the United States for yet another month, marking 31 consecutive months of success for the company. This trend of dominance continues over the console’s main competitors, the Nintendo Wii and Sony PS3, at least in the United States.

According to new data from NPD, Microsoft’s Xbox 360 has sold 107,000 consoles during the month of July 2013. The Xbox 360 retains the lead against the Sony PS3 and Nintendo Wii in the United States as the top console 31 consecutive months in a row.

The Xbox 360 also saw a total retail sales of $178 million dollars, which includes hardware, software, and accessories. This was the most for any console in the United States. During the month of July 2013, the Xbox 360 held eight of the top ten games, including “NCAA Football 14,” “Minecraft,” “Call of Duty: Black Ops 2,” “Far Cry 3,” “Borderlands 2,” “Injustice: Gods Among Us,” “Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim” and “Grand Theft Auto IV.”

Microsoft’s new Xbox One console is set for launch this November and the comapany is gearing up for this launch with an event called gamescom on August 21st. This event is the world’s largest trade fair for interactive games and entertainment. Microsoft will showcase some of the new Xbox One game titles at this event.
