Windows Store

If you need dictionary or translation support that is unobtrusive, and optimized for Windows 8 and Windows RT, Sidebar Dictionary might be exactly what you’re looking for.

Sidebar Dictionary is a great tool for those who need dictionary or translator support when reading and/or writing while online. Minimalist in design, the app can be minimized to the sidebar on either side of the screen. Although text can entered manually using Sidebar Dictionary’s edit function, it’s typically not necessary to do so. Users simply tap or left click to highlight a word, copy it, and then tap or click anywhere in Sidebar Dictionary’s interface for the word’s definition and/or translation to be displayed.

The app also offers text to voice support, and provides translations for nine languages. English, Spanish, Chinese (simplified), Chinese (traditional), German, French, Italian, Korean, and Japanese. In the settings, the user can change the language, clear the screen, watch a brief tutorial, disable the clipboard capture, and change the theme from light to dark or vice versa.

So, there you have it, Sidebar Dictionary, a simple but powerful dictionary and translator. It’s in the Windows Store, check it out!
