Windows Phone

In an official blog post today, Microsoft has unveiled Windows Phone App Studio beta. This new program allows newbies and experienced developers alike to develop an application of their own. The process consists of four easy steps, so you can get your app up and running.

“Windows Phone App Studio beta is a web-based app creation tool designed to help people easily bring an app idea to life by applying text, web content, images, and design concepts to a rich set of customizable templates. Windows Phone App Studio can help facilitate and accelerate the app development process for developers of all levels,” Microsoft stated in an official blog post.

For those who are new to developing on the Windows Phone platform, this program allows you to generate an app in four steps. Once you are done, you can download the newly created app in a file format that allows you to publish to the Windows Phone Store. For advanced developers, this program can allow for rapid prototyping and the ability to export the code and continue working in Visual Studio. “Unlike other app creation tools, with Windows Phone App Studio a developer can download the source code for the app to enhance it using Visual Studio,” Microsoft explains.

For now, the Windows Phone App Studio beta (optimized for IE10) is launching with a limited number of templates, plugins, and features. You can also create a live tile!

You can try out the Windows Phone App Studio beta online and bring out your inner developer!
