Windows Phone 8.1 Store Reveals Device Information As Well – onmsft.com

Windows Phone

People have been running the Windows Phone 8.1 developer preview the past few weeks. The latest operating systems offers many exciting features which were missing from the OS, narrowing the feature gap between WP and rival operating systems. Recently, another feature was discovered in the Windows Phone 8.1 store which now shows the device information in the app reviews, including the model and manufacturer.

This is a nifty little feature which can really help users looking for games and apps in the Windows Phone Store. Mostly, people do look for reviews before downloading an app to make sure it works properly, and we often see comments like, “great app”, “works like a charm” etc.

Similarly, if many people using the same handset are complaining about the bugs, it will help the developer understand where the bottleneck is.  It should be mentioned that this feature has been available on Google’s Play Store for quite a while now.

App reviews at Windows Phone Store become more reliable and cogent

Windows Phone 8.1 brings a handful of new features such as Action Center, three column start screen, custom backgrounds, Cortana — available in the US, but users interested in trying it out can do so by tweaking their region settings — and much more. The roll out process for the update is expected to begin this month. We’ll update you as soon as it begins.
