The time of the month is here when we take a look at how Windows Phone is performing in general. At the end of every month, the folks at AdDuplex release their monthly data, detailing about the performance of the operating system. Although they’ve yet to post the full report yet, the company did post a few teasers about what is coming our way when it comes to Windows Phone.
According to AdDuplex, the latest Windows Phone 8.1 is running on almost eight percent of the devices. It’s not just the developer preview, the Lumia 630/635 has made its way to several global markets, running Windows Phone 8.1, and it seems the handset is picking up. It’s not just the mid-range Lumia’s, it’s expected to go even higher when Microsoft starts rolling it out for existing handsets. Reports already suggest that its hitting Lumia 925 handsets in Finland and Argentina.
As for the best-selling Windows Phone device, Lumia 520, it has declined from 33 percent to almost 31 percent in the latest report, but it still stays as the top device. The second and third spot is still capture by the Lumia 625 with 7.3 percent and Lumia 925 with 6.9 percent, respectively.
These statistics are not the interesting part for this report. Alan Mendelevich said the logs shows a handful of mysterious Windows Phone devices from Lenovo, Longcheer, JSR, Micromax, K-Touch, Prestigio, BLU, Nokia and more. Micromax has already introduced two new WP handsets, and so down BLU and Prestigio. It seems the coming year is going to be a great one for Windows Phone since we may see devices other than the Lumias. This should also increase the competition in the Windows Phone arena, giving users a lot of choice when it comes to Windows Phone handsets.
