Joe Belfiore has today unveiled a new feature in Windows Phone 8.1 which allows third party developers to completely take over and customize the lock screen. With animations, pictures and elements previously unavailable to users, this allows for even more customization not just on the Start Screen.
This new customization option on the lock screen is open to all third party developers, and will be downloadable via the Windows Phone Store.
