Windows 9 (Threshold) build 9788 screenshot has leaked onto the web

Is this our first Windows 9 screenshot? We’ve recently been hearing about a possible leak of Windows build 9788, which was first spotted a few days ago with the NT Kernel version of 6.4. Not much else is known about the build, and if this screenshot is legitimate, not much has changed just yet.

The screenshot (first spotted by Neowin) comes from CentrumWindows, and the build number reads 9788.winmain.140704-2025, which means the build was compiled on July 4th at 8:25PM. Again, not much else is known about the current build, nor is there anything visibly new in the screenshot.

It’s possible that this build includes a Start Menu, as that is what was demoed at BUILD. We’ve also heard that even newer builds include that particular Start Menu, meaning 9788 could also have that menu included.

Of course, until anything does leak, we must ask you to take what you’ve seen here with salt. It could be false. If this build does leak, we’ll let you know if there is anything new.
