Windows 8.1 Start Screen

Microsoft is currently hard at work on an upcoming update for Windows 8.1 which is set to be announced, and maybe even released at the company’s annual BUILD developer conference. According to Win8China, who has been behind a number of Windows information leaks in the past, is claiming that Windows 8.1 Update 1 is already being internally tested by Microsoft Employees.

Microsoft recently announced that it’s annual BUILD conference is set happen in April this year, which is a lot earlier than usual. It’s highly likely that Windows 8.1 Update 1 will be shown and maybe even released around this time, introducing new API’s and features for both developers and consumers.

We’ve heard rumors regarding the update, including the possibility of it including a Start Menu. So far, everything we’ve heard about the update isn’t confirmed, so right now we’re unsure what to expect.

Win8China says that while the update will be officially released in April, it’s highly likely that enthusiasts will get their hands on the update well before then via the usual ‘unofficial’ methods. In other words, a leak is highly likely as OEM’s will get their hands on builds before the public do. It’s the same story every time regarding a newer version of Windows.

So, what are you hoping to see in the Windows 8.1 Spring 2014 update? Leave us your suggestions below!
