Windows 8.1 Milestone Preview build 9428 spotted in the wild – onmsft.com

Windows 8.1

As the Microsoft Build 2013 Developer Conference comes right around the corner, a new Windows 8.1 build screenshot has surfaced and has been going around on the web. With the new start button present, this build has a notable “Windows 8.1 Milestone Preview” watermark on the bottom right-hand corner and is build 9428.

This certainly means we should have it (or a build similar to this one) on Wednesday, when Microsoft is expected to release the Milestone Preview to the public.

The build was compiled on June 12th, so it’s about a week old. This could mean that Microsoft has not yet finished the compiled build. A rumor is circulating that the Milestone Preview build is 9450, but we do not know for sure.

Keep up to date on WinBeta for more Windows 8.1 news! With the Microsoft Build 2013 Developer Conference only days away, we’ll be sure to keep you informed!

Will you be installing the Windows 8.1 Preview when it comes available?

UPDATE: It appears the screenshot above could be a possible fake, we ask you to take it with a pinch of salt just in case.
