Windows 8 Pro PC upgrade to cost just $15?

A new report released today is suggesting that the upgrade cost for Windows 8 Pro edition will cost just $14.99, which is on the cheap side if you asked me. The report says that the offer will begin on June 2nd and will offer upgrade prices for those who purchase a Windows 7 PC.

The $14.99 price mark makes Windows 8 upgrades rather affordable. Currently, Windows 7 upgrades can cost anywhere from $50 to $100. The price is expected to be for those who purchase a Windows 7 PC and want to upgrade to Windows 8, it could also be for general upgrades from one Windows 8 version to another.

“In addition to this PC upgrade offer, Microsoft will also provide in-the-box upgrades to Windows 8 users in the form of upgrade “packs” that provide Windows 8 Pro and Windows Media Center capabilities.” This will replace the current Windows Anytime Upgrade options in Windows 7, it will be renamed to “Add Features” in Windows 8.
