In this Windows 8 app highlight post, we will go over a useful app currently available for download for both Windows 8 and Windows RT in the Windows Store. Tape Recorder is a fully functional voice recorder and player that behaves exactly like a tape deck. The app is free and available for download from the Windows Store.

“Put away your high tech gauges, and take a trip down the memory lane with Tape Recorder. Use it to record your meeting, interviews, class lecture, your friend’s karaoke singing, or anything you like. Tape Recorder is a fully functional voice recorder/player. Yet, it behaves exactly like a tape deck that you had back in the old days,” the app description reads. The app allows you to record, play, fast forward, rewind, stop, pause, and eject recordings. There is a volume meter, a play clock, dual speaker design, realistic cassette tapes, and write protection lock. You can use unlimited “tapes” and write notes on the tapes. Users can even forward or rewind to a tape location and overwrite a recording by recording again. This app allows you to make in-app purchases to allow for recording to formats such as WAV, MP3, WMA, and MPEG4. This app is free and available for both Windows 8 and Windows RT. Senstic is the name of the developer. Hit the download link below to grab this app.
