Windows 11 Insider build 22000.100 moves to Beta Channel

The Windows 11 Insider build 22000.100 is making its way to the Beta channel today. This is the first Windows 11 preview build to land in that channel of the Windows Insider Program, and Microsoft now recommends Dev Channel Insiders to switch to the Beta channel if they prefer to receive more stable Windows 11 builds going forward.

Dev Channel #WindowsInsiders – No new #Windows11 build this week. 🙁 However, if you have been considering switching channels now’s a great time to adjust your settings without needing to clean install. Just a quick click in the Windows Update -> Windows Insider settings. ^AL pic.twitter.com/eveYSBJl64

The Windows 11 build 22000.100 that Beta Channel Insiders will have the same features, changes and improvements and bug fixes as the build that previously shipped to Dev Channel Insiders last week, with the exception of the new Teams for consumers app that won’t come to the Beta channel until a couple of weeks. Before installing this first Windows 11 build, Microsoft also recommends Beta channel Insiders to check the list of known issues that has been recently updated following feedback from Insiders.

Going forward, Dev Channel Insiders should receive less stable Windows 11 builds with probably more new features (Android apps, anyone?), while Beta Channel Insiders should receive new bits less frequently though with fewer bugs as well. Unfortunately, there won’t be a new Windows 11 build for Dev Channel Insiders this week, but we hope the team will be back next week with another flight.
