Microsoft has recently announced that it’s bringing new Notification options to its Windows 10 Your Phone app. The new feature will deliver the ability to customize app notification banners and their contents, allowing users to control how much detail they’d like to see. The update is currently rolling out to Windows Insiders only, and they can now choose to show or hide all the message contents, previews, and sender.

#WindowsInsiders a new notifications feature is rolling out! Control how much detail you want visible on banner notifications via #YourPhone. Show a full preview, hide content to be less distracted or for privacy reasons. You can find this new setting in the @MSYourPhone app. pic.twitter.com/tyF5wtVIIt

If you’re interested in trying out the new feature, and you’ll need to opt into the Windows Insider program to get a chance to test customizable notification banners. To get started, head over to the App badging and banners section, and then select one of the following options; Hide all content, show Sender only, or Show with Preview (based on your preferences) to change your notification banner style.

To be clear, the new notification experience is a rolling out gradually via a server-side change, so you might not see it right away. It’s not clear when the update might roll out to the general public, but it should make Your Phone’s notifications much less of a hassle. Do you think you’re going to use this new feature on your PC? Sound off in the comments down below.
