Two Xbox One video games have been remastered and are now available to buy, download, and play on Windows 10 devices; Shadow Complex Remastered and The Escapists: The Walking Dead.

The Escapists: The Walking Dead is a special edition of The Escapists game franchise which incorporates characters and story elements from The Walking Dead comic book and TV series. Here’s the official description:

Merging the award-winning, smash-hit, indie game The Escapists with the worldwide phenomenon that is The Walking Dead, comes The Escapists: The Walking Dead. In this unique game, recreated entirely in the charming 8-bit pixel art style of The Escapists, you play as Rick Grimes as he takes on hordes of zombies let loose upon the world. Rick is in charge of a band of survivors featuring many of the original comic book cast, including Maggie, Hershel, Glenn and Michonne. Rick must secure the safety of the group by seeking out a safe escape route from each area, and manage several dangerous tasks to keep as many of the group alive as possible. The game faithfully matches the timeline of the comics, meaning Rick must first fight his way out of the Harrison Memorial Hospital, visit the Greene family farm before visiting destinations such as the Meirwether Correctional Facility and Woodbury.

The Windows 10 version appears to be identical to the one that came out on Xbox One recently however this version lacks any Xbox Live features such as cloud saves and Xbox Achievements, which is a shame.

Buy The Escapists: The Walking Dead on Windows 10

Shadow Complex Remastered however, does come with Xbox Live support for its new Windows 10 release and incorporates Xbox Achievements, leaderboards, cloud saves, and Xbox friends lists. The game itself is a side-scrolling platformer and initially came out on the Xbox 360 before being remastered for the Xbox One. This Window 10 versions is based on the Remastered Xbox One release. Here’s the official description:

Powered by Unreal Engine technology, the “modern and masterful side-scroller” Shadow Complex became an instant classic when initially released exclusively for Xbox 360 in 2009. The fan favorite won more than 50 Game of the Year and Editor’s Choice Awards and was one of the most popular console games of the year. ChAIR’s fresh twist on classic side-scrolling design with modern, cutting-edge gameplay is amplified in Shadow Complex Remastered, featuring all of the content from the award-winning original game, updated with graphical enhancements, all-new dynamic melee take-downs, and additional Achievements and Master Challenges.

Through 10+ hours of exploration and fast-paced combat, players discover game-altering power-ups to overcome obstacles, thwart legions of enemies, and delve further into a mysterious and challenging, non-linear game world.

Shadow Complex Remastered features large levels packed with a variety of enemies and boss battles, over 100 items to collect, new achievements and master challenges, graphics powered by Epic Games’ Unreal Engine 3, and has a story written by comic book writer legend, Peter David.
