June 13 marked Windows 10 version 21H2 end of servicing date. If your device runs on this operating system, you’ll probably need to upgrade to a newer OS. Especially if you want to continue receiving regular security and feature updates.
According to Microsoft:
Starting today, June 13, 2023, Home, Pro, Pro Education, and Pro for Workstations editions of Windows 10, version 21H2 have reached end of servicing. The June 2023 security update – released June 13, 2023 – is the last update available for these versions. Devices running these versions will no longer receive monthly security and preview updates containing protections from the latest security threats.
The following Windows 10 21H2 editions have reached end of servicing:
- Windows 10 Home, version 21H2
- Windows 10 Pro, version 21H2
- Windows 10 Pro Education, version 21H2
- Windows 10 Pro for Workstations, version 21H2
Windows 10 version 21H2 started rolling out to users in November 2021. And now, it’s reached its end-of-support date. To continue receiving security and feature updates, you’ll need to upgrade to Windows 10 version 22H2 or even Windows 11 as long as your device meets the set minimum requirements.
Previously, Microsoft had indicated that it will automatically update users of Windows 10 21H1 to a supported version of Windows, ensuring that their devices remain secure and continue to receive security updates.
Not very many users have been able to upgrade their devices to Windows 11 from Windows 10 because of the strict system requirements. Windows 10 is set to hit its end-of-support date on October 14, 2025. Microsoft has even stopped selling licenses for its Home and Pro editions.
