Windows 10 for phones preview now available for Insiders, get downloading now!

After what seemed like eternity, Microsoft has finally pushed the big red button that unleashes the Windows 10 preview for phones! Although, do keep in mind that Microsoft’s new mobile OS is still in development and is pretty rough round the edges, so if you are planning to install this preview, know that there will be many bugs.

The preview is available on Lumia 630, Lumia 635, Lumia 636, Lumia 638, Lumia 730 and Lumia 830. There is no word on other devices like the Lumia 930 or 1520 but we’ll keep you updated on when the preview becomes available to those devices. Microsoft promises to roll out more features and more phone support over the next few months, so stay tuned if your device isn’t currently supported for testing.

You can download the Windows 10 for phones preview using the Windows Insider app available on the insider.windows.com website. From there, Microsoft will warn you that this software is unfinished and only available for the devices listed above. Expect more devices to become supported before Windows 10 for phones hits RTM. Once you install the app on your phone, go to Settings > Phone Updates and check for updates. From there, you will be prompted to download Windows 10 mobile preview.

Stay tuned at WinBeta as we’ll be covering all the new features available in todays phone preview. Be sure to read the official disclaimer here first, before downloading the preview.
