Windows 10 for phones background wallpaper options revealed in new leak

\

Microsoft revealed Windows 10 for phones to much fanfare at its Windows 10 event in January, however, like most everything with Windows 10 at this point, people were at odds about the new Start screen.

\

While some appreciated the Live Tile transparency on the phone, which closely resembles its desktop counterpart, others weren’t so pleased about it, and prefer the current layout where the background image sits within the tiles rather than behind them. The good news is that Microsoft will be making the two background types optional, and below is the first screenshot of what those new options will look like.

The first two are the same where the background takes up the entire screen, with the Live Tiles varying only in the level of transparency. The remaining option will look familiar to existing Windows Phone owners, and it’s safe to assume that the background image will have the same parallax effect currently present in Windows Phone 8.1.

\

We don’t know whether these new background options will be present in the upcoming Windows 10 for phones technical preview build, which Microsoft has confirmed will be coming to a significantly larger number of Lumia devices. We’ll have to wait and see. Let us know which background type you’ll be choosing in the comments below.
