Microsoft officially announces Windows 10 May 2019 update, available next week for Release Preview Insiders
The May 2019 update for Windows 10 has been officially announced. Those on the Windows Insider Program in the Release Preview ring will be receiving the update from next week.
Microsoft to changes how it pushes Windows 10 updates starting with the May 2019 update
Starting with the May 2019 update, Microsoft is changing how it will push Windows 10 updates. Most importantly, it won’t automatically install feature updates until the current version of Windows 10 is coming to its end of life, but it will prompt users to install new updates via notifications, but that the user will be in control of when they choose to install it.
Facebook and Facebook Messenger apps for Windows Phone will also be deprecated on April 30
Windows Phone users are set to lose their Facebook and Facebook Messenger apps from April 30, as the social media giant will be deprecating its apps on Microsoft’s mobile platform.
Instagram app for Windows 10 Mobile to be retired on April 30
In addition to Facebook and Messenger, the Instagram app for Windows 10 Mobile is set to be retired on April 30 as well, marking a total loss of 3 social media apps in one day for Windows Phone users.
