The official Fitbit app updated this week on Windows 10 and Windows 10 Mobile devices and, while the app is still functional on PCs and tablets, it no longer works on Windows phones.
In addition to being unable to open on Windows 10 Mobile smartphones, the Fitbit app also seems to be stuck in a continuous update loop which is resulting in recurring error messages on devices about a failed app update. The app’s page in the Microsoft Store is even displaying a reinstall button instead of an open or update one which suggests that this update has somehow corrupted the app’s code.
Fitbit staff are aware of this issue and have asked affected users to mention which device they’re using in a post on their official support forums. For now, Fitbit owners are asked to sync their fitness trackers with the Windows 10 Fitbit app. Android and iOS Fitbit apps can also be used if those devices are available.
