On November 23, Microsoft announced that they were going to be releasing a lot of improvements to build up the Enterprise Mode tools for Internet Explorer 11. Today Microsoft is releasing a cumulative update for Windows 7, Windows 8.1, and Windows 10 (version 1507) to bring these tools to a wider audience.

With the Enterprise Mode XML Schema and Enterprise Mode Site List Manager tool, Internet Explorer 11 site administrators were able to import and manage their lists easier. Furthermore, the tools have been tweaked here and there to improve performance and use. For example, the v.2 XML schema is easier to read and manage than the previous version.

Also available today, the about:compat page on Microsoft Edge and Internet Explorer 11 is made available on the same Windows versions. The about:compat page is what helps businesses manage the Enterprise Mode Site List by showing the capability features that are currently applied to the site on the client machine.

As the team moves forward to update the Enterprise tools in Windows, all site lists will be using the v.2 XML schema. This means that developers will need to take the opportunity to convert their lists via the Enterprise Mode Site List Manager tool once the v.2 XML scheme is available on all devices.
