Whatsapp for Windows Phone picks up another small update

WhatsApp, owned by Facebook, is one of the most popular global messaging apps. Though not used as frequently in the United States, users from around the world use the app on a daily basis. A great deal of this popularity comes from the sheer ubiquity of the app, users on almost any mobile platform can use the service to communicate with one another easily.

The company’s Windows Phone offering has recently received another update bringing with it some small changes in functionality to better integrate with the new notifications features first introduced by Microsoft with the Windows Phone 8.1 update. Now messages in the Notification Center will display more information than before, with the sender highlighted in bold. This seems to mirror the new style of notifications seen in the Windows 10 for Phones Technical Preview, and as such can be seen as an attempt by the company to prepare its software for the release of the consumer version of Windows 10 later in the year.

You can download the latest WhatsApp update now by heading over to the download link below. Do you use WhatsApp for Windows Phone on a regular basis? Let us know in the comments below.
