Whatsapp beta app now supports custom notifications

WhatsApp Messenger is one of the more popular messaging apps available on Windows Phone. With over 400 million monthly users, updates keep rolling out for Windows Phone users. Thanks to the GDR3 update for Windows Phone, app developers can add a setting for custom tones for reminders and notifications.

That’s why today, Windows Phone Central has reported that the WhatsApp beta app now allows users to customize their own ringtone for individual and group chats. Getting a custom tone for WhatsApp has been one of the most requested feature by Windows Phone users, and thanks to GDR3, the WhatsApp team is finally able to fulfill Windows Phone users’ needs.

This new feature, which comes with version 368, now shows users the new setting screen, which you can take a look at via the image above.

Whatsapp for Windows Phone is only getting better and better with these frequent updates, which enhance the messaging experience for the user. While beta testers are currently trying out a media autodownload feature, it’s going to be a pleasant surprise after updating to version 368.

Keep in mind, this update is not yet available for the general public, only for those who are fortunate enough to be a part of the WhatsApp beta program. Currently, there is no ETA for when this update will be available for all Windows Phone users. Stay tuned!
