WeatherBug for Windows Phone version 3 updated with new look and bundles of features

It looks as though the likes of the Weather Channel and Bing Weather could have a new challenger to battle with. WeatherBug for Windows Phone has just received a big update that takes it up to version 3 and wheels in an impressive batch of new features and options.

As well as all of the usual features you would expect to find in a weather app, WeatherBug also includes a number of interesting extras. The app benefits from pulling in information from a network of realtime weather sensors around the world to provide information about weather warnings and more.

The app boasts a range of exclusive features such as Spark Alerts — a great tools for storm fans which turns your phone into a lightning detector. The Dangerous Thunderstorm Alerts in conjunction with National Weather Service warning help to keep you safe by getting you the information you need as quickly as possible.

The 10-day forecast is described as being the most accurate extended forecast available and a new Live Tile means that you are able to see a weather summary at a glance and this a great supplement to the live lock screen.

Delve into the app and you’ll also find more than 2000 live weather cams, interactive maps that can be enhanced with various informative layers, and much more. Best of all — it’s completely free. Try it out and see what you think!
