We now know what former Halo Infinite Art Director Nicolas Sparth is working on – onmsft.com

You may recall we mentioned awhile back that longtime Halo art director Nicolas “Sparth” Bouvier had departed 343 Industries after being involved with the Halo franchise for nearly 14 years. During that tenure Bouvier had worked on Halo 4, Halo 5: Guardians, and Halo Infinite in addition to working on cover art for several Halo books and comics.

In his statement on Twitter Bouvier said that “all good things come to an end,” and that he was leaving to “pursue other opportunities.” We now know what those other opportunities are…sort of. Bouvier announced on his Twitter account on August 8 that he would be joining Team Kaiju and TiMi G1 Studio as Senior Art Director.

Hi all! I am very excited to announce that I have joined Team Kaiju and TiMi G1 Studio to participate in their new AAA adventures as Senior Art Director. Delighted to jump to a new team of great creative talents to create an entirely new IP for players around the world. pic.twitter.com/H9HyD1QAYu

Team Kaiju is a new developer owned by Tencent Games. It is currently working on an as-yet unannounced AAA live service first-person shooter. TiMi Studio was the developer of the free-to-play Call of Duty: Mobile. But don’t expect anything CoD-related here: the project that Bouvier is joining will be a brand new IP.

Team Kaiju is headed by Scott Warner (who was Lead Designer on Halo 4), who said in an interview with Gamesindustry.biz that the project will be a unique FPS experience that will be a departure from current genre trends.
