Unlike the plethora of apps available for Windows Phone that allow you to watch TV shows on Windows Phone, there aren’t that many that do the same for the sports games we’re so passionate about. Although, the situation is getting better now that the Fox Sports Go app has been released on the Windows Phone Store.
The Fox Sports Go app for Windows Phone gives you access to live sports games from the NBA, MLB, NASCAR, UFC, College Football, College Hoops, and UEFA Champions League. In addition to other shows such as Fox Sports Live, The Ultimate Fighter, NASCAR Race Hub and Crowd Goes Wild, all in the palm of your hand. The app description reads:
“With FOX Sports GO, you can watch live sports and great shows from FOX Sports. Depending on your TV provider, FOX Sports, FOX Sports 1, FOX Sports 2, your regional FOX Sports Network, FOX College Sports and FOX Deportes may be available. No matter where you go, take FOX Sports with you on your Windows Phone, Tablet, or Windows 8 device.”
As the description mentions, the Fox Sports Go app is a Universal App that is also available on Windows 8.1. Although, that version is plagued with terrible reviews, so hopefully the Windows Phone version fares better. Also, Fox Sports notes that due to league restrictions, watching NFL games is not possible on the Windows Phone version but is available on the Windows version.
You will need to sign in with your TV provider first to get access to all these features. The current list of supported providers include AT&T U-verse, Cox, Mediacom, Optimum (Cablevision), Suddenlink, Time Warner Cable and Xfinity (Comcast), with Fox noting that they are working on adding new providers in the future.
