It is a little known fact that, while Marvel has been busy empire-building with its all-conquering ‘Avengers’ franchise, little DC has been squirreling away, producing a roster of fine direct-to-DVD releases that are a hidden treat for fans of the comic-book genre.

Perhaps aware of this, perhaps just taking whatever was available, “Justice League: The New Frontier” shall be shown by Microsoft as part of the Xbox Video Free Movie Weekend. From now until midnight on Sunday, anyone with a Microsoft account can access the film for free. When accessed, the film will remain available for viewing for another 24 hours, and can be accessed from any device running Windows, or from the Xbox 360 and the Xbox One.

In addition to this, Microsoft is slashing the price of all other such DC Animated Universe films, meaning that anyone with a penchant for spandex and laser beams can have something of a field day.

Will you be viewing the film? Let us know in the comments below.
