VLC app for Windows 8 updated with bug fixes and performance improvements

The official VLC app for Windows 8 has received a new update today, bumping the version number to 0.0.5. In this update, bugs have been squashed and performance improvements have been made.

“VLC for Windows 8 is an experimental port of VLC media player for the WinRT platform. VLC media player is an open source application that plays all multimedia file formats, from files, streams and discs on all platform. This app will play most video file formats, including Ogg, FLAC and MKV,” the app description reads.

According to VideoLAN, this update addresses numerous app crashes, including the crash when starting the app. The performance of the app has also been improved. Hit the download link below to snag the updated app.
