As Microsoft continues to work on Visual Studio 11, which is currently about to reach Release Candidate, the company revealed some new interface changes to the software, based on user feedback. Visual Studio 11 now features an optimized light and dark themed interface.
As you can see from the screenshots above, Microsoft has fine-tuned the dark theme to feature simple icons and a simple more consistent color palette. The dark theme now features themed scrollbars and common dialogs now feature a darker theme. “Chief among the reasons many of you have expressed for preferring dark backgrounds is the reduced strain placed on the eyes when staring at the screen for many hours. Many developers state that light text on a dark background is easier to read over longer periods of time than dark text on a light background,” Microsoft explained. These changes are set for the RTM release of Visual Studio 11.
