Microsoft’s diagram creator Visio is releasing their Visio Online preview for Office 365 First Release customers today. The browser-based version of the diagram tools program has many of the same features as the standard product.
Earlier this month, Microsoft announced that they were searching for previewers of the iPad version of Visio, which and extending the applications reach beyond its core Windows users. But that reach has been extended once more to nearly all devices with an internet connection.
Customers can get started using the Visio Online preview by uploading a .vsdx file to the cloud through OneDrive for Business or SharePoint Online. Users can then use the Visio Online tool to view, edit, and share files through the browser or seamlessly access them with their installed full Visio product.
Visio Online currently works with Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome, and Internet Explorer. While it’s only in preview for now, the Visio Online FAQ mentions that the team hopes to make the tool generally available to all Office 365 commercial subscriptions by the end of the year.
