Single point of contact for Multi Vendor support of network infrastructure

Virgin Media (Nasdaq:VMED LSE:VMED), the UK’s leading broadband provider, today announced a partnership with Telindus Ltd, the UK ICT arm of Belgacom (Brussels: BELG.BR), to manage the service and support of its network.

As part of this multi-year contract, Telindus will be providing Virgin Media with a Single Point of Contact (SPOC) managed service supporting the company’s data network platforms from Alcatel Lucent, Cisco, Juniper Networks and Motorola and helping to deliver Virgin Media’s market leading services to residential and business customers alike.
Telindus has over 10 years of experience in the Service Provider market in the UK and continues to drive value and savings for its customers. The key objective for Telindus is to continue to provide unsurpassed levels of support to Virgin Media that not only allows them to drive operational efficiencies but also to continue leading the way in giving its consumer and business customers the experience they demand.

Paul Buttery, chief customer and networks officer at Virgin Media stated: “It is absolutely imperative to our customers and to us that our network is working at peak performance at all times. The level of service and commitment offered to us by Telindus has helped us achieve this over a number of years and we believe that Telindus is the perfect partner to help us grow our business in the future.”

Mark Hutchinson, Managing Director of Telindus UK commented: “This contract is testament to the strength of our relationship with Virgin Media over a decade that has seen exciting changes in their business. This opportunity will extend the partnership between our two companies: it paves the way for a new and dynamic approach to delivering service, by aligning services to business requirements and Virgin Media’s long term strategic objectives.”

Gordon Wardrop, Virgin Media Client Director at Telindus, added “Delivering value to our Service Provider customers is part of the DNA for Telindus UK and its ‘spine’ is around the design, supply and support of large IP networks. We are delighted that this has been recognised by Virgin Media.”
