Verizon messages app lets you send and receive texts on your windows pc or tablet

Verizon has launched an official Verizon Messages app for Windows 8.1 in the Windows Store. Designed to work on PCs and tablets, this app lets you send and receive texts to your contacts.

“People on the move and on the go can’t be tied down to one place or one device. Use Verizon Messages to seamlessly send and receive messages on your Smartphone, iOS device, tablet and desktop (MAC, PC and Web). Your conversations are organized in one place and saved on your device for up to 90 days,” the app description reads.

This app is already available on Android and iOS, but features basic functionality such as the ability to customize backgrounds, the ability to use Glympse to quickly share your real-time location with others, or view your friend’s locations on a map, as well as an image editor and an auto-reply feature.

The app feels a bit sluggish and could use a few updates to improve performance. If you are interested in managing your texts on your Windows PC or tablet, give this free app a try. Upon first launch, you will be prompted to enter your cell phone number and you will receive a text with an authorization code. Once you enter the code, you will begin receiving your texts on both the app as well as your cell phone. You can download the app right here.
