US and Canadian Microsoft Stores will have extra Xbox Ones on launch day

As launch day approaches, you may well be worried that if you have not already pre-ordered a console there is virtually no chance of getting one on the day. Well, all may not be lost. Providing you can make it to a Microsoft store, you may still be able to get your hands on one.

Talking to GameSpot, Microsoft has revealed that all of the Microsoft stores in the US and Canada will have extra consoles available to buy from midnight on 22 November. As you would expect, there are a limited number available and you’ll probably have to fight off other eager gamers.

Microsoft says that the consoles will be limited in number and will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis. People who did not have the foresight or funds to pre-order an Xbox One well in advance — or simply hadn’t decided whether they wanted one — have been discovering that tracking down consoles is like searching for a needle in a haystack: launch day consoles are sold out at all major online retailers.

Time to launch can now been counted in hours and from the stroke of midnight on Friday morning we can expect to see photos of jubilant shoppers heading home with their prized possessions. If you tweet your Xbox One unboxing, or photograph yourself waiting in line to pick up your console, don’t forget to share it here!
