If you’re a UK Xbox One user and watch a lot of TV in the UK, and have wanted an easy way to stream TV programming, then Sky might have just the solution for you. The company has announced a TV from Sky app for Xbox One that supports just about everything a TV viewer could want.

The long awaited new app, available on the Xbox Store via Xbox Live, supports Sky Go Extra and Sky Multiscreen. If you upgrade to Sky Go Extra, you’ll get a free two month trial to check out the service and make sure it does what you need it to do.

Here’s the company’s statement on their Sky Go Extra service:

On top of the entertainment channels, Sky Go Extra customers with a Sky Movies subscription can choose from over 1,000 movies to watch, including the biggest box office hits added 12 months before online subscription services. Titles currently available include Taken 3, American Sniper and Elf. Sports fans with a Sky Sports pack can watch live Barclays Premier League, William Hill World Darts Championship and England’s tour of South Africa to name just a few.

Microsoft is pretty excited about seeing Sky TV support added to the Xbox One, according to UK Marketing Director for Xbox Harvey Eagle:

“Sky Player on Xbox 360 remains one of the most popular apps with our fans, so we’re delighted to bring TV From Sky to Xbox One owners in the UK.”

The Xbox One enjoys TV programming from a number of key providers, including NOW TV, the BBC, and Twitch. We’ll continue to let you know what else is playing on your Xbox One.
