UK app lovers can earn points and win prizes just by downloading apps!

Who doesn’t love a good app? Whether you’re using your Windows Phone, or you have desktop or tablet running Windows 8.1, there is always plenty to discover in the respective stores. To encourage Windows and Windows Phone users into checking out just what is available, Microsoft is launching the AppChallenge. While you may think that this would be a competition to design a new app or two, in fact this is a contest in which you can win prizes just for downloading apps! Sound good? Read on…

If you’re in the UK — sorry, rest of the world, this one is only available to UK residents — you can download the AppChallenge app and once installed you will be invited to take part in weekly challenges,

There’s nothing too challenging here — despite the name — as all you have to do is download app, use apps and share apps, earning points as you do so. The three people who manage to amass the most points at the end of each week will walk away with a prize.

And the prizes are not to be sniffed at. Up for grabs are the likes of a Nokia Lumia 1520 and an Xbox One, and there’s nothing to stop you from winning more than once — in fact Microsoft says you could claim up to four individual prizes!

So what are you waiting for? Getting the AppChallenge app downloaded right now!
