Ubisoft Plus may be coming to Xbox consoles later this month

A year after it was first announced that Ubisoft Plus would come to Xbox (and PlayStation) consoles, the service may be set to finally arrive sometime this month. As first reported by Insider Gaming, several titles on the platform backend, specifically Xbox versions, have been tagged as free. Among them: Assassin's Creed Valhalla, Far Cry 6, Watch Dogs Legion and more.

The report seems to be going off a Twitter post from games industry analyst MauroNL, who seems to think Ubisoft Plus will become available on Xbox ahead of the Developer_Direct event on January 25th.

Ubisoft+ might be available soon on Xbox platforms. The Store back end just updated and a whole bunch of Ubisoft titles just got a new unknown 'FREE' tag. Counting down to January 16-17.

For those unfamiliar with Ubisoft Plus, it is Ubisoft's gaming service which gives subscribers access to the vast majority of Ubisoft's catalog of games. This includes day one releases and all DLCs and expansions. It is similar to EA Play, which is already accessible to Xbox gamers with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. It is being speculated that the $14.99/mo. service may make the switch to a multi-tiered subscription model when it does become accessible on Xbox and PlayStation consoles.
