Coming in November 2016, two of the most popular Gears of War Legacy Maps will make their debut in Gears of War 4 on Xbox One and Windows 10; Checkout and Drydock. Gears of War 4 Season Pass holders will be able to play on Checkout and Drydock as part of the early access Developer Playlist in Xbox Live Versus Multiplayer and Horde Mode.
Checkout and Drydock will be available for everyone else starting November 8, 2016, and are the first month of free map updates for Gears of War 4. Here’s a flythrough look and description of each multiplayer map from Xbox Wire.
Checkout Multiplayer Map
Revisit the iconic supermarket in Cole’s hometown of Hanover 25 years after the events of Gears of War 3 in this Legacy Map. Much like the rest of Sera, nature is reclaiming whatever it can following the Locust Wars, but that hasn’t slowed the fast, furious and frenetic combat that takes place between the checkout lanes and the electronics department.
Drydock Multiplayer Map
Transported from a COG ship building facility to a ship breaking scrapyard on a Seran mudflat, this fan-favorite returns with a vengeance to Gears of War 4 Versus Multiplayer and Horde modes.
Gears of War 4 Season Pass Holders will also get five special digital items as part of the Vintage VIP Pack; Vintage JD character skin, Vintage Gnasher, Dropshot weapon skins, Vintage JD Emblem, and Vintage JD Bounty for extra XP. On November 1, 2016, Xbox Wire will offer a sneak peek at the Run the Jewels “Air Drop,” that features playable Killer Mike and EL-P characters, as seen here.
As an added bonus, Gears of War 4 Season Pass holders will DLC map ownership of over 24 additional maps for private play on dedicated servers, access to the Developer Playlist, and the Starter Airdrop, a care package with dozens of Gear Packs, assorted character and weapon skins, and more.
