Two-factor Authentication Rolls Out To All Instagram Users – onmsft.com

Instagram has been experimenting with two-factor authentication for a while now, emailing unique codes to users and giving others the mobile phone SMS option. Today the extra layer of security will begin rolling out to all users.

Users can check if two-factor authentication is available on their device by going into the app’s settings. An option for Two-Factor Authentication should appear under the Account menu. If activated, a user’s phone number can be customized from within the Edit Profile screen.

Two-factor authentication is a form of security that’s significantly stronger than a basic password as it requires a unique code to be sent to a specific device before a login is allowed. Two-factor authentication is also available in several other popular apps and services and is highly recommended for anyone interesting in protecting their accounts and personal information.

Do you use two-factor authentication? Let us know in the comments below.
