Titanfall launch event set for sxsw in austin

For gaming fans, the recent news is swirling around up-coming Xbox One title, Titanfall. We knew when it was coming, and the company released a beta version last week. Now some additional information has been announced. A premiere event will be held at this year’s SXSW, a combination tech and music event held annually in Austin, Texas.

Xbox Live’s Larry Hryb announces today “located at the Microsoft Studio at 323 Congress, the celebration will kick off at 9pm, featuring exclusive opportunities to meet the developers behind Titanfall, cool giveaways, and of course, lots of Titanfall gameplay. A special performance by Childish Gambino, one of the most exciting young talents in music, mixing a unique blend of hip-hop genres, will cap the evening”.

If you can’t make it to the Texas city, you’ll be able watch the event via a special Twitch broadcast. That will kick off at 11pm ET, 8pm PT. Microsoft plans “special appearances from Vince Zampella, Abbie Heppe, and Yusuf Mehdi, the legendary team from Rooster Teeth Productions, Xbox Live Gamerscore and achievement leader Stallion83, Xbox’s own Major Nelson, GameTrailers TV and Spike TV host Geoff Keighley, Twitch’s Jon Carnage and many, many more”.

Titanfall is up for pre-order now at Microsoft’s online store, as well as other retailers.
