TimesCity and National Train Enquiry System arrive on Windows Phone Store

Two new apps from India made their way to the Windows Phone Store this past week. First we have, TimesCity, a local recommendation service, the second one is an app for railway enquiry, NTES. Let’s take a look at both of them.

TimesCity

Much like Foursquare, TimesCity is a location recommendation service. It provides suggestions for nearby restaurants, movie theaters and other things. The app, however only has 11 Indian cities in its database. TimesCity will also keep you updated with the city’s local events. In my brief testing I found the app very smooth, the user interface is nice to look at, and there was no lagging.

National Train Enquiry System (NTES)

It’s a fact that Android and iOS have more apps. But neither enjoy any app from the Indian Railways service. National Train Enquiry System offers train schedules and real-time status queries in great detail. It is also available for Windows 8.

Note: The app isn’t available for the US and other regions. For Indian users who have changed their region to US (presumably to install the Cortana service), we’re afraid you will have to change the region back to India to download the aforementioned apps.

Hit the Via links to download the app.
