The official Telegram app for Windows 10 devices updated today with some improvements for groups. With this update, group admins can now place limits on the type of content members post, access to the group settings has been significantly streamlined, and all groups can now have up to 200,000 members (up from the previous 100,000 limit).

Other changes made with this update include an option to select emoji sets in chat settings, support for automatic media downloads, and new input and output settings.

Here’s the full release notes:

  • Global permissions for groups. Restrict all members in any group from posting certain types of content.
  • Unified group settings. Make groups public, set admins with granular permissions and toggle persistent history in just a few clicks in any group.
  • Choose the emoji set you would like to use in Chat Settings.
  • Choose input and output devices for Telegram Calls in Settings > Advanced > Call Settings.
  • Support for automatically downloading files and music.
